About our Crowdfunder Project

The Craft Barn is a community, not-for-profit arts and crafts venue which provides opportunities for people to come and be creative regardless of age, experience or ability. Our local area is rich in talented painters, photographers and artisans both professional and amateur, however there are few permanent gallery spaces. The Craft Barn will be able to celebrate and promote this talent as well as nurture future emerging artists from local schools and colleges.

In order for us to do this, we need to extend our existing offering by creating a gallery space. We already have an ideal location for this space - upstairs in The Craft Barn! What we don't have is a professional gallery rail. This facility will enable us to effectively display numerous works, including framed pieces, photographs and prints and other items. We intend to stage a number of exhibitions throughout the year, beginning with Derbyshire Open Arts (May 2017), The Craft Barn's Summer Exhibition (July 2017) and an exhibition of a local sixth form college's artwork (November 2017).

There will also be opportunities for local artists and artisans to stage their own exhibitions in this space.
